Wake Up Women, God is Calling

People often comment on my singleness, as a human flaw.

They say, "Tiffany you're brilliant, worldly (I hope they mean world traveled), beautiful... (blah, blah, blah)... why are you single?" AKA: What's really wrong with you?

Being single and pure, might I add, is not a disease. I find it a testament to moral character and ambition to settle for nothing less than my hearts desire to see, follow and obey God.

What they're really saying is:

You're so well educated, smart, beautiful, personable, world traveled, successful woman why aren't you a housewife already?

As if that was a life-long accomplishment. God said we would be judged by out fruit- not whether or not we accomplish the American Dream.

Why aren't you a housewife by now? With all that great education, you should be able to snag an equally, or better educated man; so you will never have to use your education (to work of course), just a  well decorated trophy-wife, of about as much use to the world as a trophy...

I didn't get an education to be unemployed and stuck in a house all day- SHOOT ME. Granted being more of an introvert, I really appreciate alone time, just not that much. I need to get out and stretch my legs. Breathe. Absorb. Work.

Yes, I realize house-wives work, but I am not talking about menial repetitious FRUITLESS work of cleaning, cooking, washing etc. Which are necessary, but fruitless and God says we will be judged by our fruit.

I pray. I intercede. I commune with God. Does not mean I have fruit.
I go to church on Sunday. Does not mean I have fruit.
If I were to sing in the church choir, it would not mean I would had fruit.
I could preach from the pulpit. It would not mean that I had fruit.

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and we will be judged by the presence and absence of these things. We will be known as Christ's once we have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires (Gal. 5:22-24).

You're so brilliant, world-traveled, beautiful and well educated, why aren't you a trophy-wife already?

You might as well ask me why I don't eat the poisoned apples & fall under the same sleepy spell as all the other princesses. Because, Joel 3:9 says "WAKE UP THE MIGHTY... v.14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision... v.12 WAKE UP the nations..."

God has not called us to be Sleeping Beauties. He has called us to not be drunk with world's lies, intoxicated, & infertile by the American Dream, the American Idol of our hearts.  We cannot lay sleeping till Prince Charming (really Prince Harming, see the book) comes to ride off into the sunset to his castle. Prince Charming (Prince Harming) is a type of American Idol. The problem is it's all a dream, you're asleep, you're dreaming.  There is MORE to life. There is MUCH MORE to serving God. God has called all women with a purpose beyond having a marriage, 2.5 kids and a house with a white-picket fence. You have a purpose and a calling to be creative and productive- it's called work. The Proverbs 31 Woman was written as advice to a King on how to choose his future Queen. The Kind is advised to find a future Queen that v.13 "willingly works with her hands," v.16, 24 buys land and starts a business; and lastly, v.17 the Queen should not be lazy or idle. Women you are not called to a lazy, party-party filled life. God is calling you to be his Queen and to live out His call on your life, which is GREAT. Stir-up your faith. Seek Him. Don't be lazy. Don't sleep your life away. Stir-up the call of God on your life!!!

God has called you to be AWAKE to hear the voices of the multitudes in the valley of decision: to wake up the mighty warriors, to join the fight, to be like Arwen and Eowyn in The Lord of the Rings, to "let the weak say, 'I am strong.'" Joel 3:10.

"Charm is deceitful & beauty is passing. But a woman who fears The Lord, she shall be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her WORKS praise her in the gates." Prov 31:31

God is calling YOU to work, to do His perfect will; not to be an American Princess.
